Gentleman,
The Pastime Circus is Friday, May 13, 2011. Shows are at 5:00pm and 7:30pm. Tickets are on sale at Robinson Drugs, the Mendham Bookstore and Blue Ridge Pool-Fireplace Center. I will also have tickets up at the club.
The circus will be done by Circus Vidbel, the same provider as last year. The circus is a great event for the community, fun for children, and also helps us raise money for the Pastime Club. I need your help to make this year’s circus a success.
Promote ticket sales- Please remind anyone you know, especially if they have children, to buy tickets during the pre-sale period from now until May12. The club makes a lot more money on the pre-sale split. If you can, e-mail as many people you know in the surrounding communities to tell them about the event. We’ll be in local school bulletins and local papers, but we need to get more people from Chester, Randolph, Bernardsville and Morristown. Please contact and e-mail people you know. . .
Volunteers- I need volunteers for final tickets sales on May 12th and to work light duty the night of the show. Can you e-mail me if you can do this?
Sponsors- I’ve attached the sponsor request letter. We do a program at the circus that gets handed out to each attendee. It lists the Gold, Silver and Bronze sponsors. If you know a company that might sponsor us, please use this letter and contact them directly. For $25 or $50 you can have your family name listed as a sponsor. Since the club always needs money, this is a good way for everyone to make a small donation.
Flyers- I left a bunch of window flyers at the club. I’ve given them out to the stores around Kings and Pastime and in Bernardsville, but if anyone can distribute around Randolph, Chester or Morristown, let me know. If you work locally in a high traffic area, please grab one for your office.
Thanks in advance for everyone’s help.
Tom Callahan
The Pastime Club has been donating to athletic groups in the Mendhams and Chesters for nearly a century. Last year, the nonprofit club donated more than $25,000 to schools and community programs such as Little League, youth soccer and football. Founded in 1915, the group is one of the area’s most generous sponsors. There is a sense of responsibility to the surrounding area’s youth. “It’s the reason the club exists,” says John Petrella, Pastime president.
